It’s May 8th – VE day in the UK, marking the 62nd anniversary of the announcement of Germany’s unconditional surrender to the allies. Should there be an announcement on the MH EBA progress today, it would almost compensate for the symbolism of the Health Minister signing the Cabinet-in-confidence document on International Day of the Midwife last year.
Moving on – but not too far: it’s 935 days until the next State election, which is precisely 2 years, 6 months and 3 weeks. I know our leaders won’t have forgotten, I know I won’t have forgotten, and I know you won’t have forgotten how little this government cares for the well-being of the most vulnerable of our state’s residents, prioritising surplus over growth, support and protection. It’s up to us to ensure that Victorian’s voters remember, too.
