Time poor (taxes, not meant to be done every four years…) so another fleeting update: in 841 days (or, for those who find that sounds too long, in two years, two months, three weeks and a twenty-nine days from now) Victoria will chose which party governs us until 2018.

Don’t be misled by the candidates selected for Premier – we vote for a party, and their policies, not an individual. That’s why, when you vote for Premier or Prime Minister, you must look at more than how personable the candidate is, how you feel about them, how they look, and the other factors that influence decision-making: what matters is how they and their party stand on the issues that are important to you, and what their underlying ideological platform is. The person may change, the planks on which the party stand won’t.
